One thing I learned in my first two years of college was that the difficulty of a course was directly related to my belief in how difficult the course was. And vice versa. If I told myself I was going to do well and then followed good study habits during the quarter I usually got an A. Confidence in one’s ability can make all the difference. My goal is to help students build confidence in their ability to study and master Mathematics – but I also want them to build a general confidence in themselves so they can master other subjects, be it Physics or Anatomy.
I am currently offering tutoring Mathematics from Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus and first year college Calculus. My qualifications include a B.S. in Math, graduate study in Physics and achievement of the professional designation of Associate of the Society of Actuaries. I previously ran the Math Lab at the University of Toledo and taught computer courses at St. Gilbert School in Grayslake. I am patient and have a very positive attitude working with students.
